Troubleshooting

Solutions for the most common issues with WP Google Street View.

Cause: Missing or invalid API key. Fix: Go to WP Google Street View → Settings and verify your API key. Test it by opening the Google Cloud Console and checking the API dashboard for errors.

"For development purposes only" watermark

Cause: Billing is not enabled on your Google Cloud project. Fix: Enable billing on the project associated with your API key.

"ApiNotActivatedMapError" in the browser console

Cause: One or more required APIs are not enabled. Fix: Enable all four APIs.

"RefererNotAllowedMapError"

Cause: Your API key's HTTP referrer restriction does not match your domain. Fix: In the Google Cloud Console, edit your API key and add your domain to the referrer list.

Map loads on the admin preview but not on the front end

Cause: A caching plugin is interfering. See Caching compatibility. Fix: Clear all caches and exclude the Google Maps script from JavaScript optimization.
